We started the day with a song and presents from his Aunt Lindsay. He was beyond giddy, as you can see from the pictures.
After his favorite breakfast of german pancakes we played with his birthday present from Nana and Papa. He was loving it.Followed by...
(there is actually blanket under his head, it wasn't sliding on the ground; and although he doesn't seem to be enjoying it, he would cry every time I stopped)
Then we went to storytime at the library.
Which is where he found his circle of happiness. He would go from side to side to side playing with every toy for 10 seconds. He was in heaven. We love our library. They have a wall of pets too, that Emma Jane spends all her time at.
After he had played with everything ten times we went to our neighborhood friendly Walmart and each family member got a buck to buy him a present. He couldn't have been happier. Emma Jane couldn't have been jealouser (yes i know it's not a word). So, we bought her a toy too.
Lunchtime! CJ's favorite place to eat is Sam's Club. He got the meal in the middle. He can eat almost the whole big hot dog by himself.
And of course ice cream for dessert.
After a good nap he was geared up for friends to come over in the evening for cake and another song.He was a little timid at first, but he finally dug in.
This was the result.
He just sat there in that chill position for a full minute. He was exhausted and went right to bed (after a bath).

OK, caption contest. Those first two pictures are the funniest faces. The first one looks to me like he's saying 'are you kidding me?!? This is the coolest gift ever!!' Followed by the second one where he's played with the toys and comes down off the high and says 'I was totally right.'
Where do I start. First, good job making him have a great birthday. You guys did a ton. That video of him sliding on the floor was SO GREAT! I was dying. He is such a cutie. How many layers was that cake? It is so cute and looks so tall. Yum. Happy Bday CJ!
CJ looks so old! too old! i think that slide across the floor i am like, seems like that is pretty much the straight winner, i am like, they could charge money for that. and the cake for the boy, i have never seen that, like i don't think that happens in my dreams even : )

I'm glad CJ had such a fun birthday. Sorry we missed it. Looks like a ton of fun though. What a lucky little boy to have such a great family.
CJ is so grown up. The pictures, the videos and the comments were so funny. I just love that little guy, but he's not so little any more. He's definitely one. Happy B-day CJ!
