Always in Need of a Bit More Patience

Has anyone perfected being patient yet? Because if someone has, please help me. Patience is something I struggle with daily. Especially with the kids. Emma Jane threw me in front of the bus at the grocery store yesterday. I was so frustrated with her. She was not her normal pleasant little self. This other little girl took over her . A girl that stood on things in the cart. A girl that took things from off the shelves and threw them. A girl that would not eat her cheerios that her lovely mom gave her but would take hand fulls and throw them all over the store. This girl also took the things out of the cart and threw them. I was flabbergasted. Unfortunately, the little girl from the store returned today. That is when I decided Emma Jane needed a nap. Now, Carl and I get to figure out how to discipline a one and a half year old. Fun . Fun. CJ the smiler.

Sweet Emma Jane, where have you gone?

What is patience??? Funny, I read you blog just as i had to get away from my kids while my heart beat calmed down...Nora and I are at extreme odds and Audrey is especially whiney b/c she got immunizations today! ;) We're in it together!

preventative measures are best. make sure they are not tired or hungry before you leave. i have even let avery bring the little dvd player in the store or toys to keep him happy. patience is a hard one for me too. i just try my best to let them do what they like and let me do what i like.

i think if Heavenly Father lets us be moms it's because he knows we need an extra dosage of patience. :) seriously. (and then depending on the kids it could be 3 or 4 or7 doses) We ARE in it together.

i so know what you mean!!

and in our house Naps are great (even if all they do is play quietly in bed) and in especially bad cases that attitude finds a corner to sit in for a minute and then we regroup and try to move forward.

my one and a half year old Alexis is doing the same thing... I think it is just a phase they all have to go through! By the way, I am Carls cousin Marcy! We've never met, but I check your blog all the time!
