Good Ole Alabama

So, when we went to go work on our house the other day, this was in our neighbor's front lawn. Yes, those are the skins of Raccoons drying out!!! I guess I am glad we don't live in our house yet because I wouldn't have wanted to see them clean those raccoons. And yes, I am sure they found them in their backyard. And, yes, I am sure they ate them for dinner. Don't you just love the South!

that is too funny! Love the picture. You'll have to find out what they ended up doing with the skins...

a taxidermist lives down the street from us and works in a building in his back yard. we pass his house walking to school. it usually stinks and there is usually a dead animal hanging out to dry somewhere. today it was a big elkhead just lying in the driveway. you could see bloody stuff hanging out at the neck.

Did they have to put them so close to the street? It's like they were putting them on display for all of the neighbors to see. That's gross. Hopefully your kids are too young to realize what it was. That would make for some interesting family discussions.

Our neighbors are awesome. The house is the grandmother's, and she is like 100 years old, literally. Her son stays with her to take care of her. They have been so nice to us. They have watched over our house while we haven't been living there. So, I am glad that he has a gun. :)

I hope they don't have internet or don't find out we have a blog. Nice people. Actually the box was in their backyard for a while. He was cleaning and brought it out to the street. Glad to have found my hunting buddy;)

Lol. When I saw your post, I immediately thought of that old disney movie, "Davy... Davy Crockett... king of the wild frontier" (can you hear the theme song?)
